It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Darlene, who departed this life after a brief illness on July 31, 2025.

Born on September 2, 1964, in Albuquerque, Darlene grew up surrounded by family, faith, and a love for reading and caring for her cherished dogs. She touched countless lives with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Darlene was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Casey Trujillo. She is survived by her son, Luke; her mother, Nadine Trujillo; her sisters, Cathy Colvin (Brian) and Denise Diaz (Angel); 3 nieces as well as other loved ones and many dear friends.

Her life was a testament to grace, generosity, and strength. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued, and her legacy of love will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her.

Darlene began her career at Modrall Law Firm before becoming a Classified Administrative Specialist for the Safeguards and Security Center at Sandia National Laboratories.

A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Albuquerque. Friends and family are welcome to join in remembering and honoring her beautiful spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lap Dog Rescue of New Mexico at https://lapdogrescue.org/donations
