Daniel Jacob Nuñez, age 62, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on February 26, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, to Dalia and Louis Nuñez. Daniel was raised in Alhambra, California. Daniel attended Ramona Elementary School and graduated from Alhambra High School in 1982, where he formed many lifelong friendships and memories.

On May 26, 1983, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as a Medical Specialist. During his military service, he was stationed primarily in Germany. He served honorably until his separation from active duty on May 25, 1986, carrying with him the values of service, dedication, and compassion that would guide him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Daniel worked in telephone installation, where he developed the strong technical skills and work ethic that became hallmarks of his career. On May 5, 1998, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to work alongside his father at GT Specialties. He later joined FedEx Express, where he built a respected career and was known for his dependability, professionalism, and dedication. Daniel retired from FedEx Express as an RTD Driver on December 13, 2025.

On September 18, 1993, Daniel married Patricia, his best friend and the love of his life. Together they shared nearly 33 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their greatest joy was raising their three children and creating countless family memories that will be treasured forever.

Daniel enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the people he loved most. He cherished riding his Harley-Davidson Fat Boy on the open road and embraced the freedom and adventure it brought. He was actively involved in his sons' lives, proudly serving as a den leader for both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, helping to guide and encourage countless young people along the way.

A talented and generous quilter, Daniel found great satisfaction in quilting projects for his mother, sister, and friends. Through every stitch, he shared his time, creativity, and love with those around him. Whether helping family, supporting friends, or lending a hand whenever it was needed, Daniel's kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Those who knew Daniel will remember his quick sense of humor, generous heart, and ability to make others feel welcome. Whether spending time with family, helping a friend, or sharing a laugh, he touched the lives of many through his kindness and genuine care for others.
