It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia (Cindy) Kay Nowell, born on March 30, 1960, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world on August 31, 2024, at the age of 64. Cindy's life was a testament to love, joy, and the warmth of family and friendship.

Cindy was a remarkable woman known for her boundless kindness and infectious laughter. As a devoted life partner, she shared a deep and enduring love with her partner, Basilio (JR), finding joy in every moment they spent together. Her role as a mother was marked by unwavering support and unconditional love, and she cherished the countless memories made with her children. As Granny Kay, she embraced her role with a heart full of affection, creating a special place in the lives of her grandchildren and all who were fortunate enough to know her and make wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Her passion for life was evident in the way she adored spending time with her family. Cindy's love for cookouts, vibrant flowers, music, and laughter around the dinner table were the essence of her joyful spirit. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her warmth extended to everyone she met. Whether tending to her garden or organizing a family gathering, Cindy made every moment special with her radiant personality and caring nature.

Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire those who were touched by her life. Cindy's memory will live on through the countless lives she enriched and the many cherished moments she created with her family and friends.

Cindy is now reunited in eternal rest with her cherished family members who preceded her, including her father, Pete Vanwinkle, and her grandchild, Tristan Nowell. The memories of these loved ones continue to offer comfort and warmth. Their legacy will continue living through the enduring bonds with those who remain: her mother, Marian Vanwinkle; her brother, Craig Vanwinkle; her sister, Kimberly Ioviero; aunt, Cecilia Price; sons, Taylor Nowell and Cory Nowell; five grandchildren, life partner, Basilio Casteneda and many loved nieces and nephews. Cindy's spirit will forever reside in the hearts of all who knew her, serving as a guiding light for generations to come. We find solace in knowing that Cindy's love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to resonate in our lives.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2025.
