Curt L. Russell, age 50, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on October 28, 1967 in Ruidoso, NM to Les and Shirley Russell. He attended school in Springer, NM until his junior year. He finished his junior and senior year at Cibola High School in Rio Rancho, NM.
Curt and his dad, Les, owned and ran several businesses, Sweepco, Chroma Color Labs, and a route for Fed Ex Ground.
Curt enjoyed going camping, to the lake, and motorcycle races with family and friends. He was a big supporter for his son, CJ, at all out/call out racing. He enjoyed sitting around a campfire and sharing stories and reminiscing.
Curt was preceded in death by his father, Les, in June of 2016 and mother, Shirley, in October 2017. He is survived by his two sons, Clayton Russell and Tanner Russell; sister, Shawna and husband, Rob Troxell; sister, Shea Russell; five nephews and nieces, Dustin, Dallas, Shooter, Shyan, and Aubrey; and grandson, Zander.
Curt will be remembered as always being there for family and friends when he was needed, as well as his funny story telling.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 320 Maxwell Ave., Springer, NM 87747.
