Clorinda "Flora" Wildenstein Grubesic went home peacefully to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 97. Clorinda was born on June 6, 1926, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Wildenstein; husbands, Albert Wildenstein and John Grubesic Jr.; and parents, Roman and Eloisa Aranda.
Clorinda is survived by her sons, James Wildenstein and wife, Shannon, Paul Wildenstein and wife, Jerri, and John Wildenstein and wife, Tori; and sister, Betty Sweeney and husband, James Sweeney. She had eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Clorinda grew up in Las Vegas, New Mexico, with her two brothers and three sisters. She was always happy to say that she learned to drive early, taking her father's taxi around town. She met Albert Wildenstein and they were married and had four wonderful boys, Charles, James, John, and Paul. Once they were married, they moved to California due to Albert working in the Aerospace industry.
Clorinda and her beloved boys returned to Albuquerque to be with her parents when Albert became ill. After Albert's death, she worked for the Bernalillo County Assessor's Office, and raised her four boys with love and affection, while being a working mother.
Later in life, Clorinda married her long-time friend, John Grubesic Jr., and they spent many happy days together prior to his passing.
Clorinda received so much joy from her grandchildren and she was a caring and loving grandmother.
Over the past six years, Clorinda gained new family in the caretakers and residents at her beloved assisted living facility, A Love For Life. She loved her Becky and had nothing but beautiful things to say about the care she received from the whole staff each day under the ownership of Roann.
Throughout her life, Clorinda was always taking care of those she loved, from her husbands to her sister, and her beloved son, Chuck. She always had nothing but patience, kindness and love for everyone she met, and even later in life, while she could no longer physically care for those who were dear to her, she spent hours giving the best care in the world through her ceaseless praying for those she loved.
Clorinda's strong faith in God and Jesus Christ guided her every day. While her family will miss her presence while we remain on this earthly journey, we know she is safe with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and watching over all of us with a direct line to God to continue her prayers for everyone who was dear to her.
Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing staff at A Love for Life for taking such amazing care of Mom over the past six years. We would like to especially thank Becky, Millie, Margaret and Roann for taking care of Mom as she made her transition to her forever address. Words are not enough to thank every staff member who took care of her. Thank you to Dr. Standoli who loved to take care of Mom and visit with her, and saw her for the beautiful, kind, quiet soul she always was.
