CLEMENT MARIO FASCITELLI

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Mario Fascitelli. Mario was born June 26, 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island, and passed away at home on October 5, 2025, at age 84. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Pat in 2018; Mario is survived by his son Chris Fascitelli (wife Michele and their three children, Jayde McArthur, husband Evan and their daughters Ellison and Landry; Jake, wife Nicole and  Austin) all of California; Son John Fascitelli (wife Stephanie, their two children Colton and Dominic, wife Kailey) all of Albuquerque; His daughter Michelle Ruth (husband Duey, their three children, Angie, her daughter Bailey, Kyle, his daughter Presley, and Amber) all of Albuquerque.

Mario was a dedicated American Patriot and dearly loved his country. He enlisted in the Army in October 1961 and was first stationed as a Private in Albuquerque Sandia Base by December. Albuquerque was where he would meet Pat not long after he arrived. She would joke that due to his thick accent, she had to look down and make sure he had shoes on. She was not interested. He though, was persistent and her mom was tired of fielding calls for her. By December 1962 they were married, and their worldly adventures began. In May 1964 he completed the Intelligence Corps Special Agent Field course and was assigned to Okinawa and soon after promoted to Staff Sergeant. In September 1968, was another proud accomplishment for Mario as he graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned to Second Lieutenant in Army Intelligence. Not long after, Mario was assigned to The Republic of Vietnam. Mario served in the Vietnam War and received The Bronze Star. After the war, Mario and Pat made several more moves with their family. He praised Pat for keeping them together and afloat. Mario left active duty, moved the family to Albuquerque and continued as an Army Reservist, eventually retiring at the rank of Major. Mario then moved onto a second career in Real Estate, running the largest Century 21 in NM with Pat and his son John. Mario was passionate about many things including being a devoted Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics Fan. Mario was a proud father of his three children, an adoring great-grandfather to four young great-granddaughters but he was especially delighted of his grandchildren. He couldn't boast enough about the future generation and how much all of them have accomplished.

He desperately missed his beloved but persevered for another 7 years as a widower. We all encouraged him to get out. Make new friends, find a hobby, try a senior center, but he claimed those people were too old. He filled his time at his own senior center, the casino, getting what he called, his "people nourishment." Mario could talk to anyone. He would also always remember their name. Just being able to drive his car and interact with anyone was good enough for him. He would always say he didn't want to be a "pain in the patooba" and was insistent on maintaining his independence. One thing is for sure, he was thankful for "Steph on Wheels," a nickname he lovingly gave Stephanie as she always made sure that his fridge was full of ready to eat meals. Michelle clipped his toenails, cleaned his house as well as other unmentionables. Thankfully, Michelle was not given a clever nickname.

He was ready to be with our mom. He didn't tell us kids, but we have contacted several of his lifelong friends and many of us have told us so. We find peace that they are now back together, dancing to Proud Mary, Tina Turner version of course.

A viewing will be held on Friday November 14th at 9:30am followed by the ceremony at 10;00a at French Funeral on Lomas. Reception celebration will be following. Private interment for the family will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
