Clara Medina

Clara Medina, age 100, beloved mother and grandmother of six generations was called to her eternal resting place on June 11, 2016. She was born to Stephen and Serapia Sanchez in Juan de Dios (Santa Rosa), NM in 1916. She moved to Albuquerque in 1959 with her husband, Alfonso. She retired from the University of New Mexico. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso; siblings, Alfredo Sanchez, Pelajio Sanchez, Alfonso Sanchez, Tana Garcia, and Julia Aragon; daughter, Lita Larranaga; grandchildren, Curtis Page, Jerry Medina, Joleen Burton, Raymond Chavez, Rachel Zamora, and Matthew Chavez. She is survived by her children, Thelma Chavez, Josie Lopez, Viola Page, and Chris Medina, and wife, Carroll; 30 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great- and great-great-great-grandchildren! Pallbearers will be Robert Medina, Keith Page, Steven Baca, Victor Chavez Jr., Raymond Chavez Jr., and Severo Moreno.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 15, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Friends may visit beginning at 6:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 16, 2016, 9:00 a.m., at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11509 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Shrine of St. Bernadette following interment.
