On the morning of May 31, 2025, Christopher Sanchez, a beloved resident of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and loyalty. He departed just weeks before his 53rd birthday.
Born in 1972, in Albuquerque, Christopher touched the lives of many with his storytelling, profound sense of humor, creativity, and outgoing nature. He was a great friend, possessing a rare gift for maintaining lifelong connections, most spanning over 35 years. His charisma and innovative spirit were truly remarkable. If you knew Christopher, you knew he had a unique ability to communicate and negotiate.
After graduating from La Cueva High School, he embarked on an adventure at New Mexico State University and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. His generosity in college was evident as he provided rent-free housing to many, creating lifelong memories for those who lived with him in Las Cruces.
Christopher is survived by his parents, Michael Eloy Sanchez and Marcy Sanchez. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him dearly. During his illness earlier this year, he focused on strengthening his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Rebecca Sanchez; grandparents, Ernie and Stella Marquez and brother, Eric Sanchez, who are now with him on his journey.
Christopher's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of all who were touched by him.
The celebration of services honoring the life of Christopher will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, with a Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd SE in Rio Rancho. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following the Mass.
