Cheryl Hicks

Cheryl Lynn Hicks, 76, loving mother, wife, and friend, passed away Monday October 2, 2023. Cheryl relocated from Michigan by way of Texas) to NM in the mid 70s and was known for her artistic talent, her dedication to her church, and for her unending love for her family and friends. Cheryl had a strong faith and was committed to serving others; whether it was running the youth group, the free store, or the monthly food pantry, you would find Cheryl in the middle of the chaos with a smile on her face. Cheryl was a creative and talented artist and a proud University of Michigan graduate who spoke Spanish and Russian. She played the piano and the guitar, and directed the youth handbell choir. She enjoyed tennis, swimming, square dancing and sunbathing. She made church banners, birthday cakes, homemade pizza, and halloween costumes. She loved cats, southwestern art and jewelry, butterflies, hummingbirds, and broccoli.

She is survived by her husband, Don, three children, Kristofer, Ron and Christie, four grandchildren, Karol Lynn, Keith, Kyle, and Taylor, and her two cats, Bailey and Button. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held Saturday, 10/21/23, 10:30 am at St. John's United Methodist church located at 2626 Arizona St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. A reception will follow.
