At a young age, Charlotte professed her faith and became a lifelong member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, her family church in Chicago.
While attending Langston University in Oklahoma, Charlotte met the love of her life, Clarence Del Dixon. Their marriage was blessed with two sons: Tyrone Dixon (late wife, Darcel; and current wife, Richelle) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Del Dixon (Severiana) of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Affectionately known as "Mema" by her grandchildren, Dr. Erin Prince (Dr. Marloe Prince), Christopher Dixon, Miles Dixon, Eboni Dixon, Zoe Dixon, and great-granddaughter Noah Prince, Charlotte lived a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Charlotte enjoyed a long career in banking, serving as Manager of International Letters of Credit at Continental Bank in Chicago, Illinois. In 1972, she was promoted and transferred to the bank's Houston, Texas, branch, where she and her family made their new home. She later became a devoted member of Brentwood Baptist Church.
In May 2020, Charlotte relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to live with her son Del and his family, where she spent her remaining years surrounded by love.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence, her parents, her eleven siblings, her mother-in-law Laura "Cubby" Dixon, and her daughter-in-law Darcel "Cel-Ski" Dixon.
She departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Charlotte leaves to cherish her memory two devoted sons, five loving grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
