Charles George Sain III

Charles George Sain III after a brief illness left this earth for his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 10, 2018.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 5, 1931. After graduating from St. Louis University High School with honors where he also ran track, he attended Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated Magma Cum Laude. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 39 years and did a lot of work related travel.

Charles was very interested in history and did a lot of reading and watching history documentaries on television, especially WWII films. He also enjoyed watching sports on television and he was a Lobo fan and Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved gardening and had the most beautiful lawns in the neighborhood. He had a beautiful cactus garden and knew the names of all the varieties.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Marie Wilson; his parents, Charles G. and Marie Estelle Sain; and his brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Agnes and their children, Stephen Louis Sain and wife, Cindy, Charles Joseph Sain, Therese Kelley and spouse, Ed, William Timothy Sain, Margaret Bowling and spouse, Russell; grandchildren, Jacqueline Marie, Stephanie, Aaron, Joshua, McKenzie, Christopher, Nicholas, Tristan, Jacob; and great grandchildren.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the Rosary being recited Sunday, April 22, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 23, 2018, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
