Charles "Charlie" Edward Jackson

Charles "Charlie" Edward Jackson, born April 3, 1926, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family in Albuquerque, NM. He leaves behind a legacy marked by grace, curiosity, kindness, and a life lived fully and beautifully.

Charlie is survived by his three devoted children, each of whom adored their father: daughter Jean Reynolds and her husband Ray, son James Jackson and his wife Lisa, and son Richard Jackson. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Kendra Myers, Jason Jackson, and Brandelyn Jackson, who treasured every story, smile, and moment spent with him. His great-granddaughters, Ashlye and Charlotte, brought him immeasurable joy in his later years.

Born with a gentle spirit and a bright mind, Charlie lived a life rich in passions. He was a gifted ballroom dancer, gliding across the floor with the grace of someone who understood the joy of movement and music. He loved to sing in barbershop quartets, filling the room with harmony and warmth. The Sandia Mountains were his playground; he found peace in their rugged beauty, wandering their trails with the quiet appreciation of someone who saw wonder in the world. Many evenings, he was happiest simply sitting outside with a glass of wine in hand, savoring a peaceful sunset.

After serving in WWII, Charlie devoted much of his professional life to Sandia Laboratories, where his thoughtful mind and dedication were deeply respected. Married to his beloved Helyn for more than 50 years, he treasured every chapter of their life together. They shared adventures, challenges, laughter, and a love that shaped their family for generations.

A lifelong collector of memories, Charlie loved taking pictures, delighting in capturing moments large and small. He had a fascination with maps, of places he'd been, places he dreamed of, and places he simply found interesting. Colorado held a special place in his heart, and he spent countless cherished days there throughout his life.

Above all, Charlie was a polished gentleman, steady, warm, and unfailingly kind. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, dance partner, and friend. To know him was to love him, and to be loved by him was a gift beyond measure.

He leaves this world as he lived in it, with dignity, generosity, and a quiet, enduring strength. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the mountains he walked, the songs he sang, and the hearts of all who loved him.
