Charles Frock passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 24, 1930, to Everett and Ibeal Frock in New Haven, Indiana. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul; his sister, Marcia; and Frances, his beloved wife of 46 years.
Charles and Frances raised four children, who survive him: Timothy (Barbara) Frock, Tracy (Steven) Koehnke, Jennifer Frock, and Thomas (Rebecca) Frock. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren- Paul Frock, Christina (Jake) Mechenbier, Cameron (Janine) Koehnke, Katie (Branden) Helsel, Mikayla Rever, Noah Frock, and Lucas Frock-and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren: Armanii Frock, Aelin Rever, Kaibren Helsel, Sterling Helsel, and Constance Koehnke.
Charles enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served honorably during the Korean War. Following his military service, he and Frances moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Education at UNM. Charles devoted 31 years to teaching with Albuquerque Public Schools before retiring in 1989.
A man of deep faith, Charles was an active member of Central United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. In his later years, he embraced creativity as an avid woodworker, participating in arts and crafts shows throughout the city and creating carvings from fine and exotic woods. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling and was a dedicated Mason, holding lifetime membership with Lodge #224 in Leo, Indiana.
Those who knew Charles will remember him not only for the many years he lived, but for the way he lived them- with humility, perseverance, humor, and a deep love for his family. His life was a gift, and his memory will continue to shape the generations who carry his spirit forward.
A memorial will be held on January 22, at 10:00 am at Central United Methodist Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Helping Hands ministry at Central United Methodist Church.
