Charles Thomas Culbreth passed away leaving behind a profound legacy of family, adventure, and love. A proud veteran, he served eight years in the U.S. Army before beginning a distinguished career with the Santa Fe Railroad, where he retired after 34 and 1/2 years of loyal service. He loved recounting his days with countless stories of the camaraderie, challenges, and history of his time with the railroad.
Beyond his work, Charles had a passion for seeing the world from the deck of a ship, thoroughly enjoying the love of cruising and exploring new horizons alongside his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Beverly Culbreth. Their enduring marriage was the foundation of his life, and he took immense joy in sharing the stories of their journey together- from their early days to the beautiful life they built.
He is also survived by their four children: Janet Weresch, Debra Butler and spouse Jim Butler, Dennis Culbreth, and Shari Alonzo.
Charles was loved and cherished by his six surviving grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will carry on his stories and memories. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jeremy Butler, and his faithful dog, Reebok, both of whom he is now reunited with.
Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) Declares that absolutely nothing- including death, life, angels, demons, present/future fears, or cosmic powers- can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
