Charles W. "Bud" Clark, age 89, passed away on April 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian "Vicky" Clark of Albuquerque; children, sons Jeff Clark of Albuquerque, and Greg Clark of Oklahoma City, daughter, Cindy Girrard and husband Neil, of Capitan, NM; grandchildren, Josh, Nate, Mindy, Steve, and Timmy all of Capitan, NM; brother, Bob Clark of Wichita, KS; nephew, Chris Clark also of Wichita and extended family members.
Born February 9, 1929, Bud and his brother Bob were both born in Shawnee, OK and raised in the Gulf Oil Camp at Seminole, OK. When he was a sophomore in high school the family moved to Oklahoma City, OK where he graduated. Bud went on to attend and graduate from "OU" Oklahoma University. In 1951, Bud joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Bud and Vicky met at Charmwood Boarding House in Denver, CO in 1956 and they were married in 1960. Bud's career with D.O.E. eventually took them to Albuquerque where they settled and raised their family. Bud retired in 1986 after many years of service with D.O.E. at Sandia National Labs. Bud enjoyed attending and watching OU football, snow skiing, and was known as a "history buff."
Services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming and he will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the Clark family requested contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20006 or St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59004.
