Charlene Renee Hutton

Charlene Renee Hutton (née Klen) passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026 at Presbyterian Rust Hospital in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Char was born on May 20, 1959 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Stephen Klen and Ethel Krantz Klen. She was the youngest of four children. In 1979, Char married David Andrew Hutton, and they moved to Macon, Missouri. Char and David had one daughter, Katrina Hutton. In June of 2026, Char and David moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to be close to their daughter.

Char worked at Dollar General and then Casey's General Store, where she was a reliable and dedicated worker who enjoyed doing planograms. In her free time, Char enjoyed needlepoint, diamond art, watching true crime, going to concerts, and playing games with her family and friends. Char accompanied her husband to many Shriner functions, where they met some of their lifelong friends.

Char was proceeded in death by her parents, Stephen and Ethel Klen, nephew Scott Bogard, and niece Nicole Dwyer.

She is survived by her husband, David Hutton; daughter, Katrina Hutton; siblings Linda Landers and her husband Ron, David Klen and his wife Mary, and Barbara Dwyer; numerous nieces and nephews; and grandcats Nico and Izzy.

Char's family would like to express deep gratitude for the staff at Presbyterian Hospitals, especially the staff on the sixth floor of Presbyterian Rust for providing comfort and dignity during her last moments.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at French Funerals - Westside Chapel.

A Rosary will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:15 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
