Cecilia "Nana" Trujillo, 87, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to her Mother Lucy (Sena) Gabaldon and Father James "Santiago" Gabaldon, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Arturo M. Gabaldon and twin sister Celine M. Gabaldon.
Nana was a proud graduate of St. Francis Cathedral Junior High School and Santa Fe High School. Following high school and a heart dedicated to service, Nana spent her career brightening the days of others. She viewed her work in customer service not just as job but an opportunity to connect with and support her community. Nana continued her life of service as a devoted volunteer for Senior Affairs where she radiated warmth, empathy, and grace. She will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.
A true testament to the power of love, Nana considered herself incredibly blessed to share her life with Patricio P. "Popo" Trujillo. Though he passed away just a few months ago, we know their eternal love story goes on as they walk hand-in-hand once more.
Together, they raised five children and built a life centered on family, faith, and adventure. They shared a love of travel, forming friendships and memories across the world. Their 65 years of marriage stand as a beautiful and lasting testament to love, dedication, and partnership; a timeless tale.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Janelle Montoya and the staff at Presbyterian Hospital for their compassionate care and support of our beloved mother.
We are deeply grateful to her children-Martin & Sandra Gabaldon, Jerome Trujillo, Patricia Valdez, Edwin Trujillo, and Angela & James Baca-for their unwavering love, compassion, and dedication. Their care, support, and presence brought Nana solace, peace, and joy throughout her life. A special thank you to daughter Angel and spouse, James Baca, for their unwavering devotion, endless compassion, and tireless care which brought so much comfort and peace to Nana during the final stages of her life's journey. We are equally grateful to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members, whose love, encouragement, and support meant so much to her.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Martin & Sandra Gabaldon, Jerome Trujillo, Patricia Valdez, Edwin Trujillo, and Angela & James Baca; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her sister, Anna Gabaldon; and her brother, Robert "Gabby" Gabaldon.
