Carrol Marie James, born on December 27, 1941, in Delta, CO, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, at the age of 84. A devoted wife to her husband, Harold “Ron” James, for 66 wonderful years, Carrol’s life was a tapestry woven with love and faith.
Carrol was the proud mother of four: Ronald James Jr., Mitzi James Kincaid, Patrick James, and Christopher James. She cherished being a grandmother to six and a great-grandmother to eight, finding immense joy in moments spent with her family, including her granddaughters Alex Johnson, Tiffany James, Jennie James, Katelynn James, Jubilee James, and her grandson Wyatt Kincaid.
She loved her sister and brothers and is survived by her sister Barbara Turley, Bob Mitchell, Wally Mitchell, and the memory of Don Mitchell. Carrol was preceded in death by her parents Walter Mitchell and Ivy Mitchell.
Carrol had a deep passion for studying the Bible and dedicated much of her life to teaching Women’s Bible Studies and praying with others. Her faith was a guiding light for many, and she was actively involved in her church community, where she built lasting friendships and strengthened the hearts of those around her.
Art was another love of Carrol’s; she took several classes in various mediums, producing beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and spirit. Carrol was also a member of the Honor Roll Society at New Mexico Technical Vocational Institute, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Supporting Ron in his singing groups and choirs brought her joy, as did traveling and taking cruises together, where she made countless memories and touched the lives of thousands with her kindness and generosity.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at French-Lomas. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 11:00 am, at Faith Chapel. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery on June 14, at 12:30 pm.
Carrol will be remembered for her unwavering faith, artistic spirit, and the love she poured into her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and light that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
