Carolyn Quinn

January 3, 1940 — November 3, 2025

Carolyn L. Quinn, 85, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at her home on November 3, 2025. She is survived by her husband, John Crawford; her sister, Jan Green; her brother, Ron Leggett (Suzi); her children, Cynthia Huggins (Sam), Joel Quinn (Jean), Lynn Cox (Russ), and Carl Cannon; her grandchildren, Katie Huggins, Megan Huggins, Ben Huggins, Joseph Quinn, Jena Quinn, Cameron Cox, Regan Stailey (Matt), Johnny Cox, Casey Cox, John Allen Cannon (Natalie), Victoria Edmark (Kevin), Alex Cannon, Frank Cannon, and Jennifer Cannon; and six great-grandchildren.

Born in Wolfe City, Texas, in 1940, Carolyn lived in Dallas and Austin before moving to Albuquerque in 1967. A life-long educator, Carolyn received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and her master's degree from University of New Mexico. She taught numerous years at Albuquerque High School, four years at Los Alamos High School, and several years at Central New Mexico Community College. She also worked at Sandia National Laboratories after retiring from teaching.

Carolyn loved entertaining friends and traveling, especially exploring new destinations and seeing her adored grandchildren. Her most cherished trips were with family at the beach and grandchildren's graduations. She believed that travel was the best way to really learn and expand her horizons, using those experiences to enrich her teaching. She was happiest when she was planning her next trip.

We would like to thank Carolyn's outstanding hospice care team from Ambercare and the wonderful caregivers at Home Care Assistance for their support and care of Carolyn. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. In lieu of flowers, please support the Parkinson's Foundation.
