Caroline Lange

Caroline Anne (Griebling) Lange, of Rio Rancho, Albuquerque, and Sandia Park, New Mexico, passed away on June 2nd, 2025. She was born to parents Edward William Griebling Sr. and Florence Isabelle Pearson Griebling in Neptune, NJ. Caroline graduated from West Mesa High School in Albuquerque, NM, in 1975 and attended the University of Albuquerque, the University of Maryland, and the Central New Mexico Community College, where she received a degree in accounting. Her family relocated to Rio Rancho in 1967, where they were among the first 100 families in the area.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Lange of Sandia Park, NM; her son, Chris Lange of San Francisco, CA; her daughter, Michelle Chavez, and son-in-law, Lorenzo Chavez; grandsons, Richard McClurg and Justin Lange; and granddaughters, Tiffany Perrone and Jade Chavez, all of Rio Rancho, NM.

Caroline was an award-winning swimmer in school, an avid tournament bowler, and a bowling youth coach. She was a proud member of the Young American Football and Young American Cheer moms' group. She also belonged to the Albuquerque Women's Bowling Association, National Amateur Bowling Inc., the Rio Grande Mustang Club, and the Albuquerque Browns Backers. Caroline loved watching the Golden State Warriors, traveling, and playing at the casino. She was a bright and loving friend, wife, and mother. Her devotion to her family was immeasurable. Her selfless decision to stay at home with her children during their early years had a lasting impact on all of their friends, who often regarded her as a second mother.

Caroline worked at Triangle Grocery in Cedar Crest and had previously been employed as a timekeeper for VA nurses. She also worked for the Social Security Administration in Albuquerque, Phoenix West, Ten Pins and More in Rio Rancho, Walmart in Edgewood, and H&R Block in Moriarty, NM.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at French Funerals and Cremations - Westside.
