Carlos Alberto Bianco

Carlos Alberto Bianco, known by his close friends as Carlitos, treasured in his heart, from an early age, the YMCA, an organization to which he would dedicate his life as a tribute to his deep Christian commitment, reflected in his exemplary life of love of and service to his fellow men.

Carlitos will be remembered with affection and gratitude by thousands of individuals who were nourished by his affable advice and irresistible and contagious joy. Carlitos was always someone you could trust your children to without hesitation, was the faithful friend, the brother you admire and the generous colleague who was always tirelessly available. He was willing to carry out small and large tasks wherever they were required and was an outstanding example of perseverance, dedication and selflessness.

His actions, however simple they might have been, were born of a sensitive and generous heart and eagerness to serve the Lord. Carlitos will be remembered as a noble, honest, genuine and helpful person, a worthy servant of God. Carlitos leaves his beloved companion and life-long wife, Anete; five daughters, Alessandra, Valesca, Christiane, Natasha and Verusca and eight beautiful grandchildren. He also leaves his dear brother, José Luis who currently resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina. But there are hundreds more who could call him "Uncle Carlos" affectionately, for having impacted their lives. There are many of us who have the pride and privilege of saying that he was our unconditional friend.

Carlos Alberto Bianco was an active member of the World Fellowship of YMCA Retirees, known by its acronym WFYR. At the local level he was the founder and active member of the chapter of WFYR Red Latina Zona Norte, where he collaborated as an advisor on international affairs. He was very active in his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the which he also served in various leadership roles including for a period of time, Branch President (similar to pastor in other faiths) of his congregation.

He was an official of the YMCA for more than 40 years, starting his career in the YMCA of Rosario, Argentina, where he was its General Secretary, later assuming different international leadership responsibilities within the organization in Argentina, Brazil and the United States.

He studied at the university in Rosario, Argentina. He continued his complementary studies and obtained his academic accreditation by the Latin American Confederation of YMCAs in 1997. In 1991 he obtained the official certification by the United States YMCA of "YMCA Senior Director".

In Rosario he served as Assistant to the General Secretary of the YMCA, where he was also responsible for human resources and community projects, director of minors and youth, physical education and camps.

His devotion to those most in need and passion for international work led him, at the request of the International Division of the YMCA of the USA, to be entrusted with developing of special programs for the Hispanic community in the YMCA of Greater El Paso, TX & Rio Grande Valley.

Subsequently, he was commissioned to strengthen activities with the Hispanic community in the YMCA of Central New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. His experience and skills in working with young people and developing programs in multicultural and multilingual environments led him to collaborate with the International Division of the YMCA of the USA; culminating his successful career in the United States in 2010, after having meritoriously served the process of consolidation and institutional strengthening of the YMCA of Central New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In 2011 he continued his work with the private sector in areas of fiscal control and financial development. Carlitos was in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, where he faithfully continued active in his church, and as a firm and unchanging pillar of his beautiful family, until his last moments when he was called home for his rest and joy of eternal life.

Carlos will continue to live in the memory and heart of all those who were blessed to know him. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow, 10:00 a.m. at 1100 Montano Rd NW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
