Carl Eugene Londene was born October 13, 1932, in Navarre Dickinson County, Kansas. He graduated from Chapman High School in Dickinson County, Kansas and went on to graduate from Kansas State University with a degree in Business/Accounting.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and met Donna McCoy while pursuing his C.P.A. They married June 3, 1956, and moved to New Mexico in 1957. Carl was the co-owner of Londene & Jenne, CPA Firm from 1970 until retirement after 40 years in Albuquerque, NM.
"Genie", as known to family, is survived by three children and spouses, Denise Baker (Randy) Albuquerque, Darlene Capshaw (Phil) Albuquerque, and Darrell Londene (Birgit Steinhart) Augsburg, Germany; his sister, Joyce Whitebread of Littleton, CO; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his wife, Donna Allene McCoy; his parents, Fred Henry Londene and Siri Helena (Boberg); and siblings, Francis Londene, Fred Londene, Duane Londene, Helen Swartz, Dorothy Bean, Virgilee Springer, Lowell Londene, Mildred Londene, and Eileen Garten.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, Elks, Edelweiss German American Club, Scandinavian Club, South Valley Exchange and Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and American Legion. He sponsored Little League Baseball, Mime Theater, and youth activities. Carl was a commissioner on the NM Gaming Control Board. He loved sports, Lobo basketball, and owned racehorses. He was a musician and painter and enjoyed fishing, skiing and outdoors. Carl was passionate about family and farm life. Carl and his wife Donna, both being musicians, loved to dance, encouraging their grandchildren to enjoy dance and music.
