With sorrow, we announce the passing of Bryon Ross, whose kindness, intelligence, and quiet strength touched all who knew him.
Bryon exuded gentle determination - he was calm but oh so stubborn, deeply thoughtful, but a playful goofball. He had a gregarious, unabashed laugh that could fill a room, and he delighted in gently teasing those he loved. An introvert, he found joy in his hobbies: anime, video games, and an ever-expanding collection of TV and movies. His brilliant mind absorbed history and the complexities of the world with an insatiable curiosity, always seeking to understand more and helping those around him understand what felt beyond grasp.
He shared the strongest of bonds with his father, Houston - his intellectual sparring partner and source of unconditional love and acceptance. He leaves behind those who deeply loved him; his father, Houston Ross (75); his doting mother, Patty Ross (64), his brother, Andre "Bo" Ross (40), his baby sister, Roshaon Tytar (38); and his young niece, Lenore Tytar (1).
Bryon was preparing to return to law school, a testament to his enduring passion for learning. Though his time with us was far too short his presence left an indelible mark. Our entire beings ache with the heaviness of his absence, but we find solace in the unconditional love and patience he gave, and the memories we hold.
"And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed"
-Maya Angelou
Bryon is loved. Bryon is missed. Bryon will never be forgotten.
