Bruce MacLauchlan, age 92, of Placitas, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on February 13, 1934 in Alamosa, Colorado, Bruce was the beloved son of John and Cornelia MacLauchlan. From an early age, he was known for his involvement with the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Bruce graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1952 and later began working for the Mountain Bell telephone company.

Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his wife, family, faith, and community. He recently celebrated his 71st wedding anniversary with his wife, Wilda MacLauchlan.

More than any accomplishment, he will be remembered for kindness, generosity, sense of humor, unwavering faith, and love of family. He found joy in the study of history, architecture, DIY projects, and most of all, lending a helping hand in his community. He had a special gift for bringing friends, family, and acquaintances together under one roof. Bruce seldom met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife Wilda MacLauchlan; children Daniel, Samuel, and Kelly; grandchildren Sandy, Steven, Shannon, Kate, Aaron, Tracy, and Alana; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Isabelle, Lucas, and Morgan.

A visitation will be held on July 16, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at French Funeral and Cremations 1111 University Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. Funeral services will take place on July 17, 2026 at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park at Menaul Blvd. and Interstate 25.
