Brian Clark

January 19, 1969 — November 23, 2024

Brian Anthony Clark passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his beloved wife, daughters, family, and friends. Born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, on January 19, 1969, to James and Mary Jane Clark, Brian lived a life overflowing with love, purpose, and joy.

A proud graduate of Roswell High School in 1987, Brian earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico in 1992 and completed his master's degree in 2002. On August 28, 1992, he married his college sweetheart, Deborah Dominguez. Meeting on their first day of college, their love story grew into a 32-year marriage and a 37-year friendship, that stood as a testament to Brian's kind, funny, devoted, and easygoing nature-built on deep love, mutual respect, and an unparalleled connection.

Brian's life was an adventure, marked by unforgettable experiences. He loved traveling the world with his family, exploring, and encouraging his children to embrace new challenges. He captured these cherished moments through countless photos and videos, preserving memories that will last forever. Brian absolutely loved his girls: Kiersten and Bryleigh. He talked with them daily, participated in their lives and was a present force in every aspect. He was protective over them and led them to being the independent and confident women they have become.

Brian was passionate about many things, including sports, cooking, traveling, going out to eat with friends and family, mentoring, and helping others. A "Lobo for Life," he played baseball at UNM and was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Beyond sports, he dedicated his life to advocating for children with disabilities, mentoring young people, and supporting educators across the state.

His fascination with technology began at a young age, teaching himself how to dismantle and rebuild computers and master complex coding languages. This curiosity evolved into a passion for creating innovative high-tech solutions to improve school systems. Whether building and managing a business or helping others embrace technology, Brian's meticulous attention to detail and tireless work ethic set him apart. He never stopped pushing boundaries, always sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with those around him.

Known for his optimism, determination, and compassionate heart, Brian inspired everyone he met. He embodied the mantra "Work hard, play hard," filling every room with laughter, warmth, and kindness. A steady and calming presence, Brian provided unwavering strength to those he loved. His devotion to his family was unmatched-he was the ultimate "team dad" and an extraordinary "Pops".

Brian's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to education and his profound impact on those around him. Throughout his career, he held many roles, including special education teacher, IT Director, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Superintendent. Known for his compassion, integrity, and commitment, Brian earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, students, and community.

He approached each day with kindness and clarity, ensuring that everyone he encountered felt valued and understood. From the very beginning, it was clear that Brian was deeply committed to serving the communities in which he worked, always giving his all.

Brian's legacy as an educator across New Mexico is immeasurable. His ability to connect authentically with students, families, and colleagues inspired countless individuals. His leadership was marked by compassion, wisdom, and strength, and his influence reached far beyond the school walls. Brian made it his mission to bring out the best in others, instilling confidence and making each person feel seen and appreciated.

Even after retirement, Brian's passion for education remained steadfast. He continued to dedicate his time to mentoring and supporting teachers, particularly in guiding them through their dossiers. He found immense joy in nurturing the next generation of educators and fostering strong foundations for the classroom.

Brian's love and devotion extended to his family and his work, leaving a legacy of inspiration, kindness, and love that will be remembered by all who knew him. His impact will continue to resonate in the lives of the countless individuals he touched.

Though Brian leaves behind so many friends that have become family and loved ones, he selflessly asked that no tears be shed for him. He hoped his legacy would inspire others to embrace life with the same joy, optimism, and radiant smile he carried every day. These words cannot fully capture the beauty of his life, but they offer a glimpse into the incredible man he was.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his daughters, Kiersten Root (Christian) and Bryleigh Clark; his cherished grandchildren, Mason and Charlotte; his brothers, Greg (Teresa) Clark and Scott (Tina) Clark; his sister, Shelly (Jon) Botch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brian also had a special relationship with his in-laws Joe, Betty, and sister-in-law Jolene Dominguez. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary Jane Clark and James E. Clark.

Although his time here was far too short, Brian's legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. He was the kind of soul that stays with you forever. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Brian throughout his life, especially the school districts and communities where he worked and served.
