Brayden Rasmussen, 21, of Albuquerque, lived a life defined by adventure, loyalty, and an untamed spark. He died on September 9, 2026, after a car crash, ending a day spent doing what he loved, visiting family, checking on friends, and watching the sunset at Abiquiu Lake.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Brayden carried forward the legacy of his great‑grandfather and his pops, who taught him hard work, integrity, and a deep connection to the outdoors. He shared an unbreakable bond with his younger brother, who simply called him "brother"...a name many of Brayden's closest friends adopted because it fit the way he loved them.
Brayden was known for his wit, charm, cowboy style, stubborn streak, and fearless spirit. Whether hunting, fishing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, riding motorcycles or horses, or just gathering with "the boys," he lived for experiences and the people he shared them with. Small in stature but huge in swagger and presence, he had a way of making life feel bigger and better for everyone around him.
He worked as a wrangler at Ghost Ranch, caring for horses and guiding trail rides. Work that matched his wild but gentle spirit and love for the land. Brayden leaves behind his great‑grandfather Tor Rasmussen, his pops Saul Rasmussen, his mama Marisa Maez, his baby brother Triten Rasmussen his band of brothers, Pierce Brigman, James Dooner, and Roman Fox, his great grammy Gail Caliguri, and a wide circle of significant family, friends, and loved ones who will forever feel the space he filled with joy, loyalty, and adventure.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, from 7:00pm-9:00pm at French Funerals on Wyoming Boulevard.
