Bonnye Bond Jannuzzi was born in Glen Cove, New York, on March 27, 1941, the younger of two children (older sister Sue), to James and Harriett Bond. She grew up in both Hawaii, which she remembered most fondly, and Cobleskill, New York. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in Schenectady, New York.

From there, she moved to Castine, Maine, which she adored. While there, she worked at Castine Community Hospital until she decided to enlist in the United States Army in 1966. She served two years in Vietnam, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. It was in Vietnam that she met Dr. Joseph D. Jannuzzi.

They later moved back to the States and were married, eventually settling in upstate New York to be closer to Bonnye's family and to raise their two daughters.

In 1986, Bonnye and Joseph divorced, and Bonnye returned to school to earn her master's degree in public health. Around this time, she met her best friend and life partner, Dr. Joan Lenore Kingsley. They eventually moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they enjoyed tennis, golf, entertaining, attending the symphony, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and their beloved terrier mix, Ellie.

They remained devoted to each other until Joan's passing in 2016.

Bonnye remained in Texas until 2022, when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to be closer to her older daughter. She passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Bonnye will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kindness. She was easy to be around and loved to laugh.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Harriett Bond; her sister, Susan Snyder; and her partner, Joan Kingsley. She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Marie Ryan, husband, Adam J. Ryan, and Elise Catherine Jannuzzi; her niece, Sue Barodi; and her nephews, Jeff Snyder, Mark Snyder, Bruce Snyder, and James Snyder.
Funeral services will be held for Bonnye on Friday, June 5 2026.
