Bonnie Lora (Sciple) Shouse

Mrs. Bonnie Lora Shouse (Sciple), 96 years young, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 23, 2023. Bonnie Lora Shouse (Sciple) was born January 23, 1927, in Kemper County, MS. She was the daughter of Lora Robinson and John Chester Sciple. Her mother and father had 10 children, but they lost a son and daughter in childhood and another son in his teenage years.

After graduation from high school in 1944, Bonnie worked at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the U.S. Army induction center during WWII where she met her future husband. Bonnie married James Eli Shouse on June 20, 1946, in Kansas City, MO. Bonnie Shouse was a housewife and member of the Methodist and later, the Presbyterian church. She lived most of her married life in Raytown, MO, but moved after her husband's retirement to Harrisonville, MO. After her husband's death in 1992, Bonnie relocated to Lee's Summit, MO to live close to her daughter. In 2017, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law when they retired in Albuquerque, NM to help take care of grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Shouse, and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nelda Jean Tomlinson (Shouse) and her husband, David, of O'Fallon, MO and Bonnie Sue Kropp (Shouse) and her husband, Daniel, of Albuquerque, NM. Bonnie was richly blessed by her 5 grandchildren: Drew Kropp of Lee's Summit, MO, Michael Tomlinson; and Bonnie's two great-granddaughters, Mia and Taylor of St.Peters, MO, Matthew Tomlinson and his wife, Casie; and Bonnie's two great-granddaughters, Addison and Millie of St. Peters, MO, Stephen Kropp and his wife, Kourtney; and Bonnie's two great-grandchildren, Harper and Hunter of Albuquerque, NM, Lora Pineda (Kropp) and her husband, Tony; and Bonnie's two great-granddaughters, Haley and Audrey of Houston, TX.

Bonnie Lora Shouse, affectionately known as Grammy and Fun Grandma, lived a long, full life dedicated to God and family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her until she welcomes each of us home.

A private celebration of life with family will be held on a future date in Albuquerque, NM. FRENCH – Wyoming is in charge of arrangements. The burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Bonnie's name.
