Bonnie Culpepper

September 15, 1949 — August 24, 2025

Bonnie passed in her home after a long series of health issues. She was preceded in death by her parents Silas Franklin Burnett & Virginia Sue Sprigg and her brothers Chuck Deer of Ozark Missouri and George Deer of Sibley Missouri. She is survived by her two boys Lance Christopher Albert and Chad Alan Albert, her sister Virginia Kerth, brother Frank Burnett, in laws, many nieces and nephews and husband Walter Robert Culpepper. Bonnie was born in Marshal, Missouri and grew up in Douglas, Kansas.

Bonnie had a gift for managing budgets, being an excellent homemaker and taking care of others. Outside of the home she held many managerial positions throughout her career in Texas, Virginia, Arizona and New Mexico. She managed several large apartment complexes, worked as a traffic manager for two trucking companies, and was an office / personnel manager for an aggregate company.

After moving to Albuquerque, Bonnie found a deep passion for working with the elderly. She worked as a care-giver in an assisted-living setting where she developed strong bonds and relationships with those she cared for. She loved listening the stories each individual shared and even arranged for one of the residents to take a ride on my Harley. They all joked and enjoyed each other dearly.

Bonnie later became interested in caring for Alzheimer patients. She worked with the Alzheimer Association and later accepted the position of Director at Karrington where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Alzheimer facility. She meticulously made sure the residents were cared for to the highest standards, sometimes spending extended shifts with residents who didn't have family or whose families were delayed or otherwise prevented from being present at the time the resident was passing. Bonnie had a deep compassion for each of them and believed that no one should be alone as they passed.

Prior to retiring for health reasons, Bonnie managed the administrative office at American Geriatrics and Gerontology. There she worked closely with Myrna Wood (RN), the staff doctors, and helped manage a remote resident facility. The office members were a tight group of friends that would get together frequently outside of the office. When Bonnie turned 50, the staff and Bonnie's family planned a surprise birthday party for her. Friends and family came from all over the country which really surprised her. She thought she was just going to dinner one evening and walked into a surprise party! It seemed every time she looked up she saw a new face, which was a delight to watch.

Bonnie always enjoyed caring for others (Philipians 2:3-4) and went above and beyond doing it. She did her best to take care of us, her immediate family while also doing everything else. She was a fabulous cook and baker and always received complements for everything she prepared. Gatherings for barbecues and holidays were always a treat! She also enjoyed motorcycle rides, dancing, playing pool and camping in Ruidoso. After a life lived caring for others, she can now enjoy her heavenly Father taking care of her. Rest in peace baby doll. We will always love and miss you.
