Born on November 28, 1934, in Sabinal, New Mexico, Bonifacio Lopez-affectionately known as "Boney"-entered this world with the quiet dignity that would define his life. On July 6, 2025, surrounded by the comforts of home in Albuquerque, he answered the final call, his spirit carried gently into eternal rest.
---
A Life of Service and Faith
For decades, Boney dedicated himself to public service. Yet, it was in his steadfast devotion to the Catholic Church that his truest passion shone. A faithful believer to the end, he found solace in prayer, strength in sacrament, and purpose in the quiet reverence of his faith.
---
A Gentle Heart and Patient Soul
Though a man of few words, Boney possessed a warmth that beckoned others near. He might pause mid-conversation, gaze across the room, and softly declare how blessed he was simply to be in company-an invitation to share grace in the everyday. His endless patience, boundless forgiveness, and gift for peacemaking rippled through family, friends, and all who sought his calm counsel.

Survived By
He is mourned and lovingly remembered by his faithful wife, Evangeline, whose steadfast companionship graced the seasons of his life. He leaves behind his daughters, Belinda and Yvonne, and grandchildren whose laughter and presence were ever a joy to him.

In Closing
Though he has departed this earthly realm, the echoes of his devotion, wisdom, and quiet strength shall linger in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. His life was a tapestry of love and labor, woven through moments shared and memories forged.
He leaves behind not only the touch of his hands and the sound of his voice, but the enduring presence of a life well-lived - a legacy that blooms in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and the abiding love of his wife. We take solace in knowing that he walks now in the light of the Lord, embraced by grace and lifted into eternal rest.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
- Psalm 34:18
May his soul find peace in the presence of God, where no sorrow dwells and love knows no end. And may those who grieve be comforted by the promise of reunion in Heaven, where every tear shall be wiped away and joy shall be made complete.
And in the quiet moments, may the words of his cherished hymn resound in our hearts -"Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art."
