Billie Jo Crouse (born Willa Joanne Moe) was born on July 31,1939, in Minneapolis, MN, and peacefully passed at home on January 24, 2026, joining her Lord; her husband H. Dean Crouse; and parents, Doris (Anderson) and Stanley Allen Moe of ND.

She was a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, surrogate grandmother, psychotherapist, teacher, and someone who truly enjoyed life.

During her youth, Billie lived in Van Nuys, CA, and spent part of her high school years in England. Between her junior and senior year of college, she lived and worked in Japan, an experience she described as a profound blessing.

Billie earned degrees from Colorado State University, University of Illinois, DePaul University, and pursued additional studies at UCLA, Northern Illinois University, and the University of New Mexico. From 1962 to 1980, she lived in Chicago and its suburbs, where she and Dean renovated a historic home built shortly after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. In 1980, they moved to Albuquerque, NM, beginning a new chapter.

In Albuquerque, Billie worked as a certified teacher of the gifted and later served as a school psychologist in northeastern New Mexico, traveling to support students and families in rural communities. She and Dean founded ACACIA Counseling and Human Services, a private mental health practice in Albuquerque and Angel Fire. In the mid-1990s, she earned her Master's certification in Social Work and assisted the State of New Mexico in finalizing adoptions.

Billie was active in church life, hosted a children's Christian radio program, and, with Dean, participatated in KOB Radio's Saturday "Family Talk" call-in program. She also educated families about HIV/AIDS and counseled affected children.

After Dean's passing in 2013, Billie completed her father's memoir, compiling thousands of letters into the published book Right Place, Right Time! She remained active in First United Methodist Church and in Bible study, seeking to walk with the Lord from "Son-rise to Son-set."

A Memorial Service for Billie will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 315 Coal Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (800-822-6344, www.stjude.org/donate).
