Bill Trujillo died May 12, 2026, at age 92. He was born in Espanola, at home, on February 4, 1934.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Trujillo; his sons, Rick Trujillo and Carlos Trujillo; stepson, John Bohm (Shaun); stepdaughter, Debbie Dicus; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edumenio and Ana Mae Trujillo; daughter, Kathy Trujillo; stepdaughter, Diane Escalante; four brothers, Joe, Ted, Tony, and Ed Trujillo; and three sisters, Frances Baca, Rosie Phillips, and Marie Rosano.

Bill joined the US Navy in 1952 until 1960 serving as a hospital corpsman leaving high school to help support his family but did not obtain his GED while serving in the Navy. He worked in the correctional system in California at San Quentin prison and in New Mexico correctional system as a correctional officer and case worker retiring in 1998.

He loved to travel with trips to Mexico, Canada, Alaska and multiple states in the US. He enjoyed music, horses, hiking, telling stories and lots of jokes.

His family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at downtown Lovelace Hospital's fourth floor as well as Gentiva Hospice staff as everyone was so nice, caring and helpful.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - University.
