Betty Jane Adkins

Betty Adkins, 87, formally of Johnstown, PA, died October 25, 2018 at Spanish Trails Nursing Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico after a long illness.

Betty was born November 26, 1930 in Everson, PA to Alex and Alice (Nassar) Dayoob.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight O. Adkins; daughter, Carol Adkins; brothers, George, John, Abraham, and Edward Dayoob; and sisters, Adele Adams, Genevieve Salamone, Marie Hyde, and Rose Bagonia.  She is survived by brothers, Richard Dayoob of Chandler, AZ, James Dayoob of Scottdale, PA; and sister, Hellen Eicher of Camarillo CA.  Betty is also survived by her son, Ronald Adkins and his wife, Suzanne of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Dwight Adkins of Albuquerque NM; daughter, Sheila Woodall and her husband, James, of Santan Valley, AZ; daughter, Anita Sterling of San Francisco, CA.  Betty has 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Johnstown, PA.

Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 12th, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, PA.  Dwight Adkins will be receiving family and friends between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Special Projects Fund.
