Al was born on June 4, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio to Bernard and Rita Jones, nee Walsh, now both deceased. He has 2 brothers and 5 sisters that he shared his childhood with. He graduated from Bay High in 1968, immediately joined the Navy and served until 1974. He was married to Charlotte in 1972 and was married for 54 years.

His career in aerospace engineering spanned his entire adult life. He traveled extensively all over the world for work. He and his wife started their own aerospace engineering company and ran that for 20 years. His knowledge and experience in the aircraft arena was unprecedented.

He has two sons, Matt and Mark. Matt and his wife Savanna have two twin boys. Al was very proud to be called "J-Pa".

Al loved fishing, camping and woodworking. He never thought of work projects at home as work, they were his favorite pastime. His motto was there are no problems, just solutions.

He never gave up, even when he became ill. He fought until he couldn't. He passed at home with his family around him.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, two sons Matt and Mark, two grandchildren, Omri and Ezra and mom Savanna, three sisters, Kathy, PJ and Lorrie, two brothers, Jeff and Kenny and numerous nephews and nieces.

He is loved and will be greatly missed.
