Bernard Guerrero

December 21, 1928 — May 15, 2025

Bernard "Bob" Guerrero, age 96, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bob was born in Frontenac, Kansas to Jack and Della Guerrero. A proud Kansan by birth and New Mexican by choice, Bob lived a full and purposeful life dedicated to his family, community, and country.

Bob proudly served in the United States military, embodying the values of service, duty, and patriotism. After his military service, he contributed to his community and country in civilian roles as well, working at Sandia National Laboratories, then with Howard Schultz & Associates as an auditor, and later founding his own auditing company, Finder's Inc.

He was married to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rosemarie Kritzer, also of Frontenac, Kansas. Their 70 year marriage was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and commitment.

A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Bob's passion for baseball went far beyond the stands. He dedicated countless hours to coaching youth baseball and basketball in Albuquerque's Northeast Heights. As a coach for Mile High Little League, Bob led two of his teams to the prestigious Western Regional Finals in San Bernadino, California - an achievement that reflected both his leadership and deep care for the young athletes he mentored.

Bob was also a loving and deeply involved family man. He is survived by his three children, his seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

  • Robert Guerrero (Janice), and their daughter Dr. Jessica Highfill (Jeremy), and their children Logan, Maggie, and Beckett Highfill of Jupiter, Florida

  • Carol Campbell (Mike Driver), children Lindsay Britt and Byron Campbell, and grandchildren Teegan Campbell, Austin Britt, and Mackenzie Garcia.

  • Richard Guerrero (Kathleen), and their children Amber Smith Baca (Mike), Westin Guerrero, Matthew Smith (Diana), and Shawn Guerrero, and their grandchildren Brooke Baca and Maxton Smith.

Bob's warm heart, steady guidance, and unwavering love will be missed by all who knew him. His devotion to family, passion for coaching, and strong work ethic defined a life well lived.

A military service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, June 12th, at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at 3:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.

Rest easy, Coach. You gave your all - on the field, at home, and in life.
