Benjamin "Benny" Bautista, age 85, was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and is survived by his wife, Sandra; and sons, Jonathan, of Albuquerque, Benjamin, Benadict, Barry, Bernie, of El Paso; daughter, Lisa, in Denver; two sisters, Lilly and Vergie - in El Paso and all of their extended families.
Benny joined the Marines just four days after graduating high school and served our country in the Korean Conflict, remaining a faithful Marine.
Benny loved to watch and play golf and was very good, he has at least 20 trophies - and was awarded for a hole in one when he was 73 years old! Benny participated in many tournaments and had good friends he played with (and made some pocket change). He was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and loved to watch their games.
Benny also had a passion for woodworking- building cabinets, tables, closets and shelves, refinishing many pieces of furniture for family and friends, even creating 'yard art'. He loved to talk, tell stories about work and the people he worked with-- Our beloved husband, father, papa, grandfather, and great-grandfather as well as brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, will be missed so very much.
Family will announce a date for Memorial Services to take place this summer at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please check back for updated service date and time.
