Ben Perea

Ben V Perea was called to his eternal home on November 01, 2024.

He was born on October 27th, 1933 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was preceded in death by his parents, Juan de Dios Perea and Stella Chavez Perea; his son, Michael Anthony Perea; and beloved wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Chavez Perea. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen; and two granddaughters, Joyce and Michaela.

Ben served our country during the Korean War in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. He went on to work as a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired after 43 years.

Throughout his life, Ben remained devoted to his Catholic faith and was active at Holy Family Church alongside his wife for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and loved to share his produce with others. Ben was always ready to help people any way he could and he will be missed dearly by family and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 8:15 am with Mass to follow at 9 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
