Belen De La O-Sanchez

Our momma, Belen De La O-Sanchez, died on February 14, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born in Greeley, Colorado, entering this world with an identical twin named Sofia. Both were inseparable for 83 years when Sofia passed away in March of 2024. Mom was with Sofia at her last breath.

Mom was employed with ARCA, a facility for the disabled, for close to 40 years. She made many friends there and enjoyed the clients so much, she worked until she was 80. Her ability to care for the clients was diminished due to her diagnosis with Alzheimer's/Dementia, which forced her to retire. 

She is survived by our stepfather, Enrique Brioso; her son, Edward Vigil (Victoria); her daughter, Loretta Ortega (Alex); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Val De La O; and sister, Rachel Montoya (Ernie). She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Guyle, whose death she never recovered from; her twin sister, Sofia; and brother, Nel.

At her request, there will be a brief viewing on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the same location. She has requested cremation. Her remains will be buried on a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, next to her beloved son, Guyle.
