Barbara Jean Gunderlach, 69, passed away on December 28, 2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born September 10, 1956 in Allegan, Michigan to Eugene Gunderlach and Lois Gunderlach nee Ostrand.

She served in the United States Air Force in both the United States and Germany. Following her Air Force service, she graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois and then joined the faculty of Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire.

More than a decade later (and with a little help from the New Hampshire weather), Barbara decided to relocate to Albuquerque, where she took a position at SteelBridge Ministries as a Learning Center Manager. She had a major impact on lives in the community.

Barbara was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Her love for her Savior Jesus Christ shone through her as she served both the congregation and as a Stephen Minister.

Over the years Barbara owned many dogs. Two of her favorites were Emma and Bailey.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Susan J. Gunderlach. She is survived by her brothers, David P. Gunderlach, Richard C. Gunderlach, and her sister Joyce E. Varisco. She was loved my many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church 7701 Candelaria Road NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87110.
