Audrey Jean Eliason

Audrey Eliason's spirit peacefully soared free on January 28, 2016. Born in Olmsted County, MN on December 31, 1929, Audrey used her numerous gifts to encourage and support her entire family throughout her long life. She was a highly intelligent, independent thinker, who was detail oriented, in addition to being artistically talented and creative. She firmly believed in equality and justice for everyone.
She and her husband, Albert, each left their childhood homes to discover their future together in Chicago, IL, and later moved to Deerfield, IL where they raised their three children. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Gracietta Books; her brother, Richard Books; her brother-in-law, Cowden Smith; and her beloved husband, Albert Eliason.
She is survived by her three children, Stacy, Rob, and Dane (Shona); her three granddaughters, Ana, Sara, and Brianna (Josh) Aragon; her three sisters, Joan Smith, Sharon (Roy) Jopling, and Linda (John) Kemp; her sister-in-law, Sonya Books; her first cousin, Arlen Books; her 12 nieces and nephews; her 24 great nieces and nephews; and her four grand nieces and nephews.
Audrey Eliason no longer has any promises to keep, nor miles to travel, nor tears to weep in her life's journey.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
