Arthur Hille

November 4, 1933 — July 5, 2025

Arthur Hille, 91, beloved Friend and Partner was called to his eternal resting place on July 5, 2025. He entered this world on November 4, 1933, in Venus, NE, born to Arthur and Bertha Hille. He grew up farming in Nebraska but took an interest in electronics and studied electrical engineering at the University of Colorado.

Arthur served his country for 20 years in the Air Force, and studied electronic turret/gun/armament systems. He held many jobs such as operating and maintaining radio-controlled guns in B-36 and B-52 aircraft. Instructing operations of electronic systems in B-52 tail gun radar, mace missile guidance, and weapons and fire control systems in F series aircraft. He managed personnel at King Salmon Air Force Station in Alaska, inspected electronic squadrons and coordinated and managed avionic test programs while assigned to the tactical air command headquarters at Langley AFB, Virginia. He commanded an avionics squadron in England and later in Germany, responsible for maintaining 24 of the RF-4C and BF-4C. He supervised and managed about 200 personnel. Throughout his military service, he was awarded many honors and citations for his achievements. Arthur retired as a Major on Oct. 31, 1972. After retirement, Arthur worked for GTE as the Supervisor of Customer Training.

Arthur was married to Audrey Lucielle Siegel and together they raised a son, Louis Arthur.

Arthur had many interests and hobbies during his lifetime. He was an avid reader and lifelong learner, soaking up as much information on science, biology, and wildlife. In his younger days he enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, electronics, birdwatching, and woodworking. He had what he called his "radio shack" where he would spend hours operating a Hamm radio. In later years he took up playing guitar, ballroom dancing, and eventually transitioned to becoming an instructor at Holiday Park Community Center. That is where he met Lisa. They spent nine blissful years dancing, traveling, and sharing each other's company. Arthur was a member of the Solo Club for many years, where he loved to dance ballroom, country, and swing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bertha Hille; wife, Audrey Luciel Siegel; and his son, Louis Arthur Hille. He is survived by his partner, Lisa Harlow; her children, Ed (Elizabeth) and Michelle; grandchildren; and extended family in Nebraska. Also mourning his loss are his friends, Paul Baca, Pete and Ann Patterson, many caring neighbors, and friends from the American Legion Post 49, and the Solo Club of Albuquerque. Lisa would like to thank everyone who has shown friendship and support to Art and her during his life and during this difficult time.
