Arthur Minyard Hayman, born September 24, 1949, passed away on May 7, 2025. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Arthur lived his life with enthusiasm and a zest for the outdoors with a love for fishing and hunting and a love of travel around the world. He attended Highland High School where he met lifelong friends and was a state medalist in golf. After high school, Arthur went to UNM and was a member of the SAE fraternity. In 1968, he joined the Air National Guard and although was never in active duty, he enjoyed his time in the military and supported veterans throughout his life.
Arthur attended the College of Pharmacy at UNM and graduated in 1975. Arthur took over Highland Pharmacy, a neighborhood pharmacy founded in 1942 by his dad, Sydney "Red" Hayman. He was an active member of the College of Pharmacy, supporting future generations of pharmacists through scholarships, and was a lifelong Lobos fan.
He married Carolyn Dean shortly after pharmacy school, and they had two daughters. Arthur enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors and travel with his family through numerous road trips, ski trips and outdoor adventures, especially at the cabin he built with his brother, William, in Chama that is beloved by family and friends.
For many years, Arthur ran a thriving pharmacy business, consulted for pharmacies across the country, and was active in multiple endeavors including the Hayman Tree Farm, and Rehms Nursery, now owned by his wife, Tammy Hayman and her son, Tyler Leslie.
Arthur is survived by and lovingly remembered by his adoring wife, Tammy Hayman and her sons, Colin and Tyler Leslie; his cherished daughters, V.A. Hayman Barber (spouse Geoff Barber) and Liz Hayman Flick (spouse Kyle Flick); grandchildren, Landon Flick, Nora Barber, and Merritt Barber; his sister, Sara Stevenson; along with many lifelong friends.
A public service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at Calvary Church, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109, with a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Paws and Stripes pawsandstripes.org.
