Anthony Kilby

Anthony Rashaad Kilby, lovingly known as "Kilby" or "Big Boy Kilby," passed away on September 10, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 40.

Born September 23, 1984, Anthony was a beloved presence in the Albuquerque community and beyond. He made a lasting impact through his many roles: a standout player for the University of New Mexico Lobos football team, a proud graduate of Garden City Community College in Kansas (graduated 2004) and of the University of New Mexico (graduated 2008). A trusted security professional for multiple local businesses and a skilled mechanic whose talents were matched only by his generous spirit, Anthony also embraced numerous athletic opportunities and played on different football teams throughout his life, sharing his love of the game wherever he went.

Anthony's life was defined by compassion, loyalty, and love. He was everyone's protector-always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, and words of encouragement. Friends and family will remember his big heart, his dedication to those he cared for, and the way he made every person feel safe and valued. His hugs meant the world to many.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Ernestine Kilby; his father, Wilson Kilby Jr. wife, Laura Kilby; his sisters, Pearl Kilby Mattison and Sherri Kilby; Korreena Woodward-Roth; his cherished uncles and aunts; many beloved nieces and nephews; and he is treasured and loved by his extended chosen family of brothers, sisters, and many who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his sister, LaTosha Kilby, may she rest in peace; Savannah M. Frazier; Clifford Frazier; Wilson L. Kilby Sr.; and Carmen Kilby.

Celebration of Life
A celebration of Anthony's life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at FRENCH- Lomas. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial services at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. 12:00 noon. Friends and loved ones are invited to share memories and honor the remarkable man who touched so many lives.
