Anna Cory

Anna Maxine {Sunny} Cory was born in Sedan, Kansas on February 20th 1926, the daughter of McKinley and Bessie Jones. She passed away at home in Albuquerque after a lengthy illness on December 1, 2023.

She received her bachelor of education degree and taught school for several years in California. Upon returning to Kansas. she married John C. Cory in Leavenworth on July 1. 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Phylis, and her husband John. She is survived by niece, Victoria, and nephew, Pip.

Also her special "dog" friends Jan Lawrence and Corinne Kenny.

Of special note is her friend Josephine Awich and her son Fredrick, her Goddaughter Catherine and many more friends.

Sunny was a long time member of the Cathedral of St. John where she and her husband were choir members. As a founding member of St.John's Thrift Shop, she volunteered her time and expertise for many decades. She will be sadly missed by others-that worked with her.

All will miss Sunny's dry wit and contagious sense of humor.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Cathedral of St. John, 318 Silver Ave. NW. Alb. NM, on January 18th, 2024, at 10:00 am.
