Listen to Obituary

Anna Pearl (Nouwen) Amlong was born on September 25,1932 in Mobile, Alabama. She entered the kingdom of heaven on September 10, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Nouwen, her husband of 52 years, James N (Jim) Amlong, her daughter, Patricia (Trish) Amlong and her two brothers: Johnny and Bob Nouwen.

Ann was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary every night and attended mass every day until she was unable to go. Ann was deeply loved by those who knew her and cherished by those of us lucky enough to be born into her family.

She is survived by her five remaining children: Debbie Dailey, Cathy Lanier and her husband Randy, Shelley Hennie and her husband Lee, Butch Amlong and his wife Kim, and Christine Morrell and her husband Matt.

Ann is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Amanda, Marianne, Sean, Nick, Missy, Jonathan, Rochelle, Aubrey, Christopher, Jeremy, Beth, Matthew, Samantha, Michelle, Jacque, Emily, Remington and Maddie. Ann had a unique and special relationship with each and every one of her grandchildren. She loved them beyond measure and they loved her the same way.

She is also survived by 31 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Ann leaves a legacy of love and faith; she was a military wife and a mother who loved her family fiercely and practiced her Catholic faith her entire life. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her, but we are rejoicing in knowing she is in heaven with her Saviour.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at Annunciation Catholic Church on Monday September 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

A rosary will be said at French's on Wyoming on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM.

Ann will be buried in the Veterans' National Cemetery in Santa Fe with her beloved husband Jim.

The family would like to extend profound love and thanks to the staff at Beehive homes on San Pedro where mom lived for over 4 years. We would also like to thank the staff of Bosque Trails Hospice who took care of her medical needs for a year. We are eternally grateful for all you did for our beloved mother and grandmother.

Enjoy eternity in heaven Mom, you have earned it!
