Angie Ines Mendez

Angie Ines Mendez, 102, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026.

She was born to Federico and Epimenia (nee Montoya) Martinez in Chimayo, New Mexico on January 17, 1924.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alfredo Mendez; son Paul Mendez; and two of her brothers.

She is survived by her daughters Virginia (Don) Martinez, and Marie (Joe) Apodaca; her grandchildren Linda Carillo, Paul Mendez, Jeanette Swessel, Judy Mendez, Renee Mendez, Donnie (Krystal) Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, and Jason Apodaca; two surviving sisters; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm on April 14, 2026, at FRENCH-University Chapel. Family will receive guests a half hour before the service for a viewing. Burial will be held the following day at 11:00am on April 15, 2026, at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Jason Apodaca, Linda Carrillo, and Xandrio Apodaca.

The family would like to thank Krystal Martinez and all the other nurses and staff at Compassus Hospice, who were all so kind to Mom and the family. Without them, we could not have gone through this.
