Angeline P. Black, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona, just two weeks shy of her 98th birthday.
She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Joseph T. Black; her son, Alan Joseph Black; her sister, Henrietta Martinez; and her parents, Anita Springer Perea LeBlond and Gabino Perea, who preceded her in death.
Angeline’s life was defined by her unwavering love for family, faith, and service to others. She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Perea, and partner and adopted Aunt, Sandi O’Neal. She was deeply proud of her devoted children: Anita Mitchell and husband, James Mitchell; Jennette Miller Berman and husband, Hal Berman; and Ron Black and wife, Susan Black.
Her joy continued through her cherished grandchildren: James Joseph Mitchell; Rebecca Luedemann and husband, Thom Luedemann; Sarah Black Skresvig and husband, Chris Skresvig; Laura Angeline Black; and Joey Black and wife, Haley Black. She was profoundly proud of each of them and the lives they are building.
Angeline also welcomed the next generation of great-grandchildren with open arms: Isabella and Natashia Mitchell, and Marshall, Josephine, and Jameon Luedemann — each a treasured part of her legacy.
Her professional career spanned more than 27 years in administration, serving with the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Marshal Service, and the United States Air Force.
Her lifelong dedication to the Albuquerque community included active service in the Catholic Church as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, as well as support for the Catholic Charismatic Center and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Angeline’s faith was central to her life, and she shared it generously through teaching the Word of the Lord in Bible classes at several Albuquerque parishes, along with countless other volunteer efforts.
Angeline’s warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose home was always filled with love, laughter, and the spirit of the Lord. Her faith guided her life, and her generosity and compassion were felt by all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she graced.
