Andres "Buddy" Juarez, 96, dedicated family man, Korean War veteran, and avid collector passed away September 11, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Andres was born February 5, 1930, in Artesia, New Mexico to Henry and Luz Samora Juarez. He graduated from Artesia High School and four weeks later joined the United States Air Force. Andres shipped out to Japan, earning the rank of Airman First Class during his service from 1948-1952.

After returning to Artesia he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Gonzales. The couple had four children.

Andres worked at the US Postal Service for 31 years and later joined the New Mexico Employment Office for an additional 11 years before retiring.

After spending most of their lives in Artesia, Andres and Margaret moved to Albuquerque in January 2000 to help care for their first grandchild.

In his later years, Andres loved spending hours in the garden and collecting everything from books to stamps and antiques.

He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret and son Steven, and his sisters Nancy Garcia of Roswell, New Mexico, and Ruth Gonzales of Arlington, Texas.

He is survived by his son Patrick Juarez of Albuquerque, daughter Nancy Duran and husband Gabriel Duran of Albuquerque, daughter Debra Juarez of Chicago, Illinois, and his grandchildren, Lauren Duran of Chicago, and John Duran of Albuquerque.

A memorial service will be held at French Funerals Westside Chapel in Albuquerque, on October 23, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. He will be interred in a private burial alongside his wife Margaret and son Steven at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia.
