Died quickly and peacefully at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019 after an intense and unexpected battle with Stage 4 cancer.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Stephen Byrdsong; her mother, Rosanne Licata; three aunts, Mary Licata, Margarita Coyne, and Ann Goff; five uncles, James, Michael, John, William, and Brian Licata; her grand-uncle, William Licata; and distant relatives too numerous to count.
Aly also had a number of friends scattered across the globe. Because of her very rare medical condition (Monomac Syndrome with GATA-2 Deficiency Mutation, or GATA-2 for short). Aly’s remains have gone to The National Institutes of Health (NIH) for research purposes. Her cremains will be returned by the NIH when their work is completed.
