Alonzo H. Lucero

Mr. Alonzo H. Lucero, Sr. 

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Alonzo H. Lucero, Sr. at age 93 of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2026 at his residence. Born on April 8, 1933 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rosario and Antonia G. Lucero and brother, Ignacio V. Lucero, Sr.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a teacher in Penasco, New Mexico, and also at the New Mexico State Hospital as a social worker. He is survived by his children, Alonzo H. Lucero, Jr. (special friend, Teresa), Debbie Ann Lucero, and Melanie Maestas (husband, James), close friends of the family Mr. and Mrs. Carlos and Gloria Herrera.

Memorial Services will be held at FRENCH - Westside Chapel on Monday, June 1st, 2026. A Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m. with a Prayer Service at 12:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501 at 2:45 p.m.
